Croydon apartments on starting block

Wednesday 1st October, 2014
The redevelopment of a redundant 1960s office block in Croydon is all set to begin. BTP have been engaged to act as Project Manager and QS to transform it into a 100,000ft2 residential scheme comprising private apartments and studio flats.
St Anne House is a prominent 1960s 13 storey block on the A212 Wellesley Road, overlooking the Whitgift Centre in central Croydon. It is to be rejuvenated and converted into 46 private treaty apartments and 132 studio flats now BTP have been appointed PM and QS. Timing is key to this project as the owner, Bravo Group, is keen to add it to their ‘Quarters’ brand of accommodation and generate a new revenue stream as it is in such close proximity to the Whitgift Centre, which is itself in line for major retail development by Westfield. To speed construction and minimise waste, the developers of St Anne House are looking to utilise innovative pod bathroom systems and a fast track procurement route.
