The Graduate Role at BTP

BTP Group offer 2-4 Graduate/Placement positions on a yearly basis.

We are a medium sized QS practice based in Central London who pride ourselves on providing a personal experience for graduates and trainees.

We have a friendly and supportive network due to regular intake of graduates.

We believe in home growing our surveyors, and as such, aim to provide a breadth of practical experience of the role of a QS.

Our structured programme will give you exposure and experience in the following skills:

 

Placement

Graduate - all as placement, plus

Exposure to clients, design teams, contractors

Monthly meetings with supervisor to discuss APC competencies

Preparation of Estimates, Cost Plans, etc.

Workload tailored to meeting APC competencies

Tendering Process and Analysis

In-house weekly CPD training

Cost Reports /Valuations/Final Accounts

Guidance and support with Critical Analysis

Exposure to whole project timeline through various projects where   appropriate

Mock Interviews with qualified APC Chairman/assessors

Rotation to experience range of industry sectors

By the end of a year’s placement, you will have experienced most aspects of a job from inception to completion. You will have had input at all levels, including attending meetings with clients, visiting building sites, preparing estimates, cost plans and valuations. Most of our graduates return to permanent job offers following their placement.
